Steve studied with Emmanuel Hurwitz, Sidney Griller and the Amadeus Quartet at the Royal Academy. He went on to form the Bingham string Quartet in 1985, an ensemble which has become one of the foremost in the UK. Steve has appeared as guest leader with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, The Scottish Chamber orchestra, English National Ballet and English Sinfonia and has given solo performances of works by Bach, Vivaldi, Bruch, Prokofiev and Sibelius at venues as prestigious as St Johns Smiths Square and the Royal Albert Hall. Ely Sinfonia has welcomed him as their first Artistic Director to further lead, develop and expand their vision and experiences. |

Elizabeth Drury studied saxophone and voice at the Royal College of Music, and is now a freelance singer. She has sung with choirs such as Ex Cathedra, The Sixteen, Philharmonia Voices and The Gonzaga Consort. She is a founder member of the group Tarquinia, consisting of three sopranos, theorbo and cello, and has started her own vocal group, The Gonzaga Consort. Elizabeth has been a soprano soloist with choirs such as the Somerset Singers, Dartington Community Choir, Exmouth Choral Society and Exeter Bach Choir, performing works including Haydn's Creation and Nelson Mass, Handel's Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, Rossini's Stabat Mater and Bach’s St Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorio. |

Robert joined the choir at Ely Cathedral becoming Head Chorister at 13 and gaining a major music scholarship to King’s Senior School. Following his ABRSM Diploma he moved to study music at the University of Surrey, winning the Robert Naylor award for outstanding recital and in 2005 first prize in a ‘Supporting Young Singers Programme’ across the southern counties Solo performances include Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana , Bach’s Cantata for Solo Alto at Guildford Cathedral, Handel’s Messiah in Ely Cathedral and Bach s “Vergnugte Ruh, beliebte Seelenlust" for t he Winchester Festival. In 2006 Robert took up contracts in New Zealand; as Alto lay Clerk at Christchurch Cathedral and solo performances in Wellington (Messiah) , Christchurch ( Britten's Rejoice In The Lamb) and, in Auckland, an acclaimed performance as Micah (Handel’s Samson). |

Robert Woodford (BA, MA) started singing at the age of 7 when he was a chorister at St. George's Chapel Choir, Windsor Castle. At 18, he was invited to sing with the prestigous Rodulfus choir under the direction of Ralph Allwood. Whilst studying at university, Rob was a Tenor Choral Scholar at Durham Cathedral. During 2006/7, Rob took a break from his full-time career in mobile technology to take up the position of Senior Lay-Clerk at Christchurch Cathedral, New Zealand. He is currently a member of Voce Chamber Choir and Quorum and is recording his first solo album to be released in winter 2008. |

Ely Sinfonia was launched in November 1999 with generous awards from the Millennium Festival Fund and the Eastern Orchestral Board. A community orchestra the Ely Sinfonia receives coaching and artistic direction from Nicholas Cleobury and principal players from Britten Sinfonia, the Cambridge based professional chamber orchestra. |
